Exploring our community
Children attending patch programs spend a lot of time outdoors exploring the beautiful community and environment we are so lucky to have around us here in Blueberry. They have community gardens to grow and pick fruit and vege, 4 green acres to roam, trails to hike, creeks to explore. Its a fun and exciting way to ensure they have the daily physical activity they require for healthy development.
Sustainability and Healthy Food
Patch after school care spends time growing and harvesting food from the organic school gardens, depending on the season we have salads, grapes , berries and even pumpkins. The Children love to harvest the produce and then create snacks and meals in the community kitchen. The nutritional, environmental, health and emotional lessons are effortless in this experiential learning environment.
Blueberry patch staff create a fun, inclusive and nurturing environment for all children. From engaging them in their chosen free play activity to leading and modeling healthy activities and games in the playground, the staff engage and actively care and provide an engaging and diverse learning environment for the children.
